Map of Anguilla- for Government of Anguilla

This illuminated map has small vignettes of various Anguillan attractions and key points.

I was asked to do designs for a set of postage stamps on the early industries of the island. I selected details from my 'Plantation Days' mural and created two more paintings for the series - one on salt harvesting and one on traditional fishing techniques. The government then asked me to do a series on the Anguillan Carnival, so I made a series of painting based on photographs I took of the local carnival. I have always been a great fan of the Caribbean Carnival. A few years previously I had lived for 6 months in Trinidad, where I photographed extensively at Trindad Carnival. Carnival is one of the few opportunities on the planet today where everybody has the chance to participate in a spectacle of 'living art'.
