'Shades', dolls with mixed media under glass domes.
All
exhibited in Angela Flowers Gallery, London solo exhibition,
1971.
- The
Observer writes
- "She
has evolved a private mythology about metamorphosis
and created a series of boxes containing armless,
headless, female dolls. In one set the first figure
is encrusted with scarabs. Another has a dragonfly
on its breast, a serpent twines around the legs
of a third. The figures are of clear resin containing
brilliant stones, so they seem light as bubbles,
embodying the medieval belief in the alchemy that
forms men from fire and water, earth and air."
